Note: This project was never realized when it was first conceived in 2015, but we hope to resurrect it one day soon. The concept of the Life Couch is relatively simple: it is an L-Shaped couch where within and underneath the cushions, are two cylindrical-shaped holes large enough for two bodies to lay horizontally (in each section of the “L”. In the place where the “L” meets on the inside of the couch, there are two screens with perforated holes (similar to what you might see within a catholic confessional), this allows for safe breathing as well as clear speaking. Laying inside of the Life Couch, in each section of the “L” is us, Foster & Fenwick. Participants who take part in our Life Couch program never will see who we are, though they may see our feet, this is only to remind them that we are indeed human. When we receive a visitor, they let them selves in at their appointed time, and they lay or sit on the Life Couch. Prior to their arrival, we have an assistant who offers them tea, coffee, water and cookies to ensure they are comfortable in the space.
